Our Electric Guitar Making Fast Track Course offers essential luthiery training and a custom guitar design course in a series of hands-on workshops, giving the student a quick start to making their own custom guitar, bass or any string instrument. The course bundles classes arranged sequentially, so that the student can progress through a logical series of curriculums and get an original electric guitar design project underway within a short time.

This Fast Track Course includes our Guitar Set-up Course, Guitar Design Course, and Guitar Making Workshop.

No drawing, design or previous shop experience is necessary.

This course teaches how to design and make an electric guitar from raw materials and stock or custom hardware. This is not a kit course.

Seize this rare opportunity to make a successful first lap into a lifetime of Luthiery.

Students who take this course may continue working on their luthiery projects in Open Workshop at the school.

Please note:

This course is structured to instruct and guide the student through the complete design, and the essential planning and initial construction phases of a custom electric guitar. Continued work will be required to complete the guitar outside of this course.

Most students will complete their guitar within 80-120 hours, depending upon their pace and the complexity of their guitar design.

While completing a guitar in under 80 hours is possible, it is unlikely. Those who come to class with already well develop shop skills may find their work goes very quickly however.

Students will work at their own pace and they may choose to continue working on this course project on their own at home, or at the school in Open Workshops.
