This uke was created for a fellow in Key West, Florida. It was ordered as a miniature cross between a Les Paul Custom and a DeAngelico New Yorker.
The pickup is custom wound by Lindy Fralin on a four polepiece Specimen bobbin. The neck plate is custom made out of brass and chrome plated. The bridge is made of aluminum for lighter weight and chrome plated. The neck is three peice flamed maple with twin carbon fiber lamination for strength. This allows a neck profile to be as slim as a typical uke, but also stable and strong when strung with steel strings. If you want extreme results you have to go to extreme lengths.
This instrument is fitted with Gotohs which are excellent ukelele tuning machines.
All of this fits in a uke case, it’s a tight little package.
