“Awkward beauty,” said one person upon seeing this Maxwell. “The Gilded Goon,” another called it affectionately. This solid-body electric guitar was made around 1992 was my personal player for a number of years. It served as the reference for the Butter and Toast Maxwell.
I have always disliked gold hardware, but as this Amber Maxwell guitar came together it just seemed to cry out for gold. A cream-color headstock pushes it over the top.
