Custom Aluminum Guitars. This series of instruments originated from a request to manufacture an utterly indestructible yet tonally superior electric guitar. The first models were relatively traditional designs built for the Chicago-based band Tar. After an overwhelming response from the band's fans, word spread and dozens more of these guitars were created. |
- The aluminum construction provides much of the resonance of an acoustic guitar coupled with the sustain of a solid-body. This makes for a very responsive and expressive instrument with extended frequency range.
- Unlike other aluminum guitars, Specimen Aluminums balance mass with vibration. Neither too dead nor too alive, they hold firm at higher volumes and are easy to drive at top speed.
