The class will include lecture/demonstrations and a hands-on workshop under the guidance of the instructor over the course of a weekend.  Students will build their own Theremin from a specially designed tube schematic based on the original from the 1930’s and a kit of components and an enclosure assembled and made specifically for this solid build by the designers at Specimen. The kits are complete – they will include our custom wood enclosure, control panel, antennas and all of the necessary electrical wiring, components and tubes.   Theremins should be ready to play at the end of class.

Wood cabinet enclosures provided for this Theremin class will be unfinished.  Students may choose to finish their Theremin on their own or when enrolled in our Finishing & Relicing course, where they can learn to apply nitro cellulose and other finishes.  They may also choose to have their Theremin professionally finished by the experts at Specimen for an additional fee.
